Doone's 3rd Birthday Party

Whilst Doone turned 3 on Monday we decided that we would hold her birthday party on the Saturday.

Pamela had started preparations for the party weeks in advance and by Friday they were in full swing with her baking all sorts of goodies. We had a late one on Friday wrapping presents and having a general tidy beofore the big day.

Doone was up quite early on Saturday morning as the anticipation was almost unbearlabe. She skipped downstairs and gasped in the way that only Doone can when she seen her presents. Now, at previous birthday's and Christmas's we have had to expedite the openign of presents, not so this time. She tore through the presents one by one without so much as flinching. When she was finished, she went back and examined each one in greater detail.

We had hid her "big" present in the snug. We had wrapped up the door so she could burst through it which, she promptly did. Waiting for her in the snug was a pink Lazytwon Stephanie bike which she adores.

The party went really well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves although we did invite to many people and the house was completley crammed. It calmed down later in the day when people started to leave but all in all it was an excellent party.

Newlin was his usual charming self. Full of smiles, giggles and was just happy observing all the action.

Birthday Weekend

Had a great double birthday weekend with Pamela and the kids.

Friday night was spent chilling and watching TV, a most relaxing evening.

On Saturday we done our usual morning routine before heading over to my mum's before picking up the shopping on the way home. On Saturday night we got a takeaway and watched In Pursuit of Happiness, a really good film that makes you realise just how lucky you are.

On Sunday we decided to give music class a miss since it was Pamela's birthday. Spent the day in the house with the kids, went to the swingpark, then up to Pamela's mum and dad's for dinner.

The Amazing P Monster

Doone has finally started to show an interest in potty training at last. For a while she seemed to have a phobia of sitting on the potty or toilet seat but eventually overcame that. For a while she would sit on the toilet for a good while reading a book but wouldn't do the business.

She asked Pamela is she could sit on the potty this morning and........RESULT, we have a P in the potty. She got to wear her "big girl" pants and got rewarded with chocolate buttons for her efforts.

A short while later we had an accident in the carpet which was followed by 2 successful trips to the potty. I reckon we are on the right track with this one and it's all down to Pamela's persistence and awareness.

Within the last few days, Newlin has also cut back on his feed I gave him at night. This is primarily down to the fact that he is an eating machine. He is loving his food at the moment and shows no signs of stopping.

Also noticed a close bond forming between the two of one. Doone is becoming ever more affectionate and Newlin just adores her.

It's Been a While

This entry is the start of my latest attempt to sustain a blog. I always start with high expectations that my blog will provide an insight into family life past and present.

With Pamela, Doone and Newlin, life is very busy and it's hoped that this blog when looked back on in years to come will provide great memories.

I will aim to publish at least a couple of posts a week but we will see how that goes.

Pamela, Doone and Newlin are heading off to baby massage classes this afternoon. Newlin gets pampered and Doone gets to go into a creche and play with the other toddlers.

Good Night Tess

Tess, the family dog was taken to the vet toady and put to sleep. She was 15 years old and her back legs had given up the ghost along with a lot of her other functions.

I went over this afternoon and said my goodbye's. She was the most placid dog you would ever meet and she will be greatly missed.

At least she will have some company with Blaze and Tarah.

A Brief Update

Not much to report. Been busy all round.

Looking forward to the catty on Saturday for Martin's Birthday, should be a good night.

The Dream..............Is Still A Dream

Well suffice to say trapsed all the way over to Leith today and the wee beetle wasn't quite what we were looking for. The pictures hide a multitude of sins and it had two much rust for my liking.

Will keep looking and pestering Pamela everytime I see one for sale.
